No. In suitable exposure, a protective patina develops and slows further corrosion. The environment, detailing and inspection remain important throughout service.
Is COR-TEN the same as any weathering steel?
COR-TEN is a trademark. Use the actual grade and standard in your order. A generic weathering-steel inquiry does not establish licensed COR-TEN origin.
Can I order a specific rust color?
Use an agreed physical sample for initial appearance. Natural weathering varies with exposure, orientation and time; an exact permanent color should not be assumed.
Can I use it near the sea?
Marine salts, deicing salts and persistent dampness need a project-specific assessment. Provide the site location and exposure details before material selection.
Are dimensions and stock shown as guaranteed availability?
No. Send the required grade, thickness, width, length and quantity. Availability, processing, inspection and lead time are confirmed in the quotation.
How do I send an RFQ?

Can you work from a drawing?
Send the controlled drawing with material, dimensions, quantities and tolerances. Processing route, feasibility and schedule are confirmed after review.
How should I specify a pre-weathered panel?
Identify the base material, dimensions and fabrication first. Then agree a finish sample, treatment scope, permitted variation and handling guidance.
Where can I find company certificates?
Request the current company documents and relevant material records directly from the team. This website does not display unverified certificates.
